Provo Municipal Airport (IATA: PVU, ICAO: KPVU) is a public airport located two miles (3 km) west of the city of Provo in Utah County, Utah, USA. It is currently the second busiest public airport in Utah in terms of aircraft movements, with 172,000 logged aircraft operations in a twelve month period ending in May 2007. The airport is mostly used for general aviation purposes, and did not offer any scheduled commecial flights to the airport until June of 2011 when Frontier Airlines began offering daily flights to and from Denver. Salt Lake City International Airport (approximately 40 miles (64 km) north) is the closest airport with frequent commercial flights to multiple cities. However, SkyWest Airlines did offer service to the airport from 1974-1975. The airport has one fixed base operator. The airport is extensively used for flight training and is home to flight schools, including one operated by Utah Valley University. From Wikipedia under the
